Have you ever wondered what separates the best Muay Thai fighters from the rest? While there are a number of things that go into creating the perfect fighter, Muay Thai fighters that possess high level striking skills are extremely difficult to beat.

While some fighters possess heavy hands, strong clinching, and a relentless pace, the technical fighters often possess specific traits that make them elite strikers. Even though these fighters can be beat, they are the most beautiful to watch because of their mastery of the art of striking.

In the following video, I breakdown specific skills that the best fighters possess, with examples of each. Some of my favorite fighters like Littewada, Sam-A, Nong-O and Saenchai are featured in the breakdown.

Practice what You Learn

While it is easy to be an armchair expert, it is much harder to actual go out there and implement the skills talked about in this video. If you want to take your game to the next level, it is important for you to practice, practice, and practice until you have ingrained the habit as a part of you.

I always tell people that you can watch a million Muay Thai breakdowns and tips online, but without focus and implementation in your training routine it means nothing. Knowledge will not make you a better fighter, unless you incorporate that information into your game.

Remember that practice doesn’t make perfect, it only makes permanent. Practice the right techniques and habits perfectly, and that will take your game to the next level.
